Join the community discussion on parenting kids in Annapolis

boat_building.pngWelcome to Raising Annapolis! If you've ever felt the need to connect to other Annapolis area parents through discussions that go a little deeper than brief social media exchanges, this is the place for you. Share your ideas, experiences, knowledge, resources, and questions here.

As the mother of two boys, aged 16 and 21, I have to admit that my parenting style has been more experiential than informed, tackling challenges as they arise and crossing fingers on results. We've weathered some storms, but mostly we've been lucky. My interest in mentoring kids recently took a broader perspective when I became Executive Director of Box of Rain, a 501(c)3 that works with disadvantaged youth in Annapolis. Now I have 50 kids to worry about in addition to my own!

Where in our community will I find opportunities to enrich their young lives? What conversations should we be having as a community? How can our "village" work together to help parents raise our next generation of good citizens and raise Annapolis in the bargain? I hope you'll join me in helping to shape the conversation.
